After 16 bridges, 25 kilometres and dodging quite a few tourists, our intrepid team of trekkers, Anna, Annie, Charlie, Emma, Jake, Jess and Magda, successfully completed the Thames Bridges Trek to fundraise for our long-term charity partner, World Land Trust (WLT), on Saturday.
Donations are still coming in, but our fundraising total currently stands in excess of £2,250. This money will be channelled into World Land Trust’s work in Ecuador, where they are funding land purchase in the Nangaritza Valley through local NGO, NCE Ecuador.
The forest in the Nangaritza Valley is home to jaguars, spectacled bears, tapirs and countless species of frogs and birds, but they are threatened by uncontrolled mining and deforestation.
World Land Trust has been Media Bounty’s charity partner since the agency’s inception, almost ten years ago. WLT work with local NGOs across the globe to protect biologically important and critically threatened habitat acre by acre. Their patrons include: Sir David Attenborough, Chris Packham and Steve Backshall.
HUGE thanks to all that have sponsored and supported us so far! If you’d still like to donate, you can find our Just Giving page here.
